The Pousada Pitinga is certainly a symbol of rustic refinement. The architecture was conceived with local materials to respect the natural environment. The roofs of the chateaus are all covered with “Piaçava” a local palm tree straw use as a basic element in local constructions. The local flora ornaments the landscape and the surrounding common areas of this Pousada. The almost untouched vegetation of the Atlantic Rain Forest encloses the infrastructure of this pousada and many bromeliads and orchids can be seen in the gardens. At the Hotel Pousada Pitinga, the furniture, paintings and ornaments are quite outstanding and have been made by local artisans. The restaurant is highly recommended because of its seafood specialties.
