It was lovely and the staff was very attentive and helpful. It was a little uncomfortable for four people (we had our two children with us) in one cabana. It was also probably a little too rustic for me to want to go there again, but that is because I would appreciate a shower stall, a better bed and some air conditioning. With that said, though, we LOVED our trip and thought Zulum cabanas were lovely and accomodating.
We sampled the other hotels along the strip during our daily walks, we checked out the grounds, rooms when we could, and restaurants/bars. We found the service at Zulum to be so personal in every part of the hotel, and the food absolutely BAR NONE to any food on the rest of the strip that we tried. The daily lunch barbeque is NOT to be missed!! The bartender not only attended to our every margarita need and wish, but became a pal as well. Our room was magical (we grew completely enchanted by the swinging beds...after initially thinking we would not be fans!), the maid service was efficient and thorough without being invasive, and always came and went with a warm smile. There is not a single non-glowing remark I could make about this place (other than we wished it were an adults-only hotel...just a few too many loud kids outside our window in the morning, but hey, it was spring break so we expected as much). Please let those folks at Zulum that we love them and their hotel is our new sanctuary!
new management staff was great. they have a lot of ideas of how to improve the place. beautiful setting on great beach. fabulous food in their restaurant. would definitely go back
