Getting To The Island:
Jet service is usually to San Juan Puerto Rico, St. Maarten, Guadeloupe, Virgin Islands or Antigua, with transfers to lighter aircraft for the final flight to St. Kitts.
Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport on St. Kitts, located approximately 2 miles from Basseterre, is capable of handling wide-bodied jets.
Newcastle Airport on Nevis is approximately 1/2 mile from Charlestown. It can handle only smaller, twin-engine propeller aircraft.

St. Kitts is 23 miles long and 5 miles across at its widest, encompassing an area of 68 square miles. The island's point of highest elevation is Mt. Liamuiga, at 3,792 feet. Nevis, the smaller island, lies to the south and is approximately 7 miles in diameter, covering a total of 36 square miles.
