The Albatros Royale was built in 1997 and was owned by Sam Bread. Sam had followed his brother Larry (preivous owner of the Pelicano Inn) to Playa in 1980's. Sam operated the Albatros Royale for 8 years with it being one of the first better quality hotels on the beach in the early days of Playa. The hotel was bought in 2005 by the owners of Mosquito Blue, located at 5th Ave & Calle 12 and under went mahor renovations to be re-opened in 2006 as Mosquito Beach. The new hotel is upscale, edgy and a new feeling for the beach.
It's a SIMPLE Equation - the romance of the turquoise Caribbean rimmed by a sparkling white sand beach as your playground, the charm of Playa del Carmen, the traditional hospitality of Mexico, the mystery of the ancient Mayan, the lush jungles, the exciting lagoons, the adventures of diving and snorkeling - and it all adds up to a perfect holiday.
