a waterfall and relish in a natural refreshing shower.  You may want to follow the road over the spine of the island to Port Royal.   This harbor was once the stronghold of pirates and buccaneers and is exciting to explore.  The islands are fairly mountainous and a hike along a trail can reveal a spectacular view of the Caribbean Sea.

If you enjoy walking, trecking is for you. You can walk from Flowers Bay to west bay (Roatan) through unknown footpaths enjoying incredible panoramas. With luck, you will see the famous indian's skin, iguanas, plants and animals in their natural habitat. Your guide will explain stories and legends of the island. Roatan Island Tour

Some properties offer the possibility of a very particular tour of the island; a tour to become familiar and get to know the real people and the more typical corners of Roatan. Starting at 10.00 am. you will visit: Flowers Bay, Coxen Hole, the Iguana Farm, the Garifuna Village of Punta Gorda, the mangrove tunnels or the Roatan Museum, the Dolphin's show and the Tropical Treasure Bird Park. Back by 5 pm.

Rain Forest Tour

This thrilling excursion will take you to the natural park of Pico Bonito on the main land in La Ceiba. You will depart at 9:00 am flying from Roatan Airport to La Ceiba. A certified guide will take you through the rain forest, hiking for 3 and 1/2 hours . After a lunch at the Pico Bonito Lodge you'll see the butterfly farm and the serpentarium. You'll be back in Roatan at 4:00 pm.
